A statement of position
Manifesto
We built Glancio because we believe your telemetry deserves the same jurisdictional care as your customer data.

For over a decade, the error tracking industry has treated geography as a routing decision. Data flows from your servers in London to ingest endpoints in Virginia, processed by companies incorporated in Delaware, subject to warrants issued by courts your users will never appear before.
This was convenient. It was never careful. And for a growing number of organisations operating under UK GDPR, the Digital Services Act, or public-sector procurement standards, it is no longer acceptable.
Your telemetry is not content. It is not engagement. It is the nervous system of software you built and people depend on.
Glancio exists to close the gap between where your applications run and where their telemetry is stored. We chose Portsmouth not for its connectivity, but for its jurisdiction. The cable matters less than the court.
We do not move data to where compute is cheapest. We move compute to where your data has the right to remain. Our infrastructure is operated by a German company on British soil. Our company is registered in England. No US entity sits anywhere in the chain.
Sovereignty is not a feature. It is the absence of a risk you should never have had to accept.
We build on GlitchTip, an MIT-licensed error tracking platform. We do not fork it. We do not hide it. We layer a branded surface on top and contribute upstream. This is intentional: we believe open-source foundations are a prerequisite for trust, not a marketing angle.
We use Sentry-compatible SDKs because they already exist, they are battle-tested, and building a custom SDK would serve our ego, not your integration timeline. Point your DSN at Portsmouth. That is the only change.
We chose Portsmouth not for its connectivity, but for its jurisdiction.
We have no interest in becoming a platform. We will not build a CDN. We will not build an analytics product. We will not build an APM suite. We will build one instrument, for one job, in one jurisdiction, and we will keep it honest.
If you are looking for the cheapest error tracking, we are not it. If you are looking for the most feature-rich, we are not that either. If you are looking for the one that stays on your side of the border, in your jurisdiction, under your law: begin observing.
